Home / What We Do
More than a place to stay, Ronald McDonald House Programs surround families with a community of support, care and the resources they need – a place to sleep, rest and play, keep working and learning, do laundry, share a home-cooked meal, connect with other families who have been there, feel the comfort and support of our staff and volunteers - to help make their journey a little easier.
Ronald McDonald House in Orange gives seriously ill children the best gift of all – their families. Our warm and supportive home-away-from-home provides the whole family with a comfortable place to stay and peace of mind, knowing they can stay together and close to the Orange Health Service or Dudley Private Hospital.
Adjacent to Orange Health Service Hospital, our House can accommodate eight families each night in spacious, comfortable rooms with ensuite bathrooms. Our large communal living areas and leafy garden setting help create a close-knit, community vibe.
Fully operated by Ronald McDonald House Charities volunteers, our Hospitality Cart visits families at the bedsides of their children receiving treatment in the Paediatric Ward and Special Care Nursery at Dubbo Hospital with Bathurst Hospital launching in early 2026.
Our Cart delivers essential items such as much needed toiletries, activity books, puzzles and toys, as well as snacks and beverages.
These are all offered at no cost to families, alleviating a little bit of the stress that comes with having a seriously ill child in hospital.
Apart from the practical support, these gifts also provide moments of respite for the weary heart, with our dedicated volunteers also offering a listening ear and a friendly smile when families need it most.

Ronald McDonald House Charities is a tangible, professional and practive organisation and one of the most respected children’s charities in Australia. Our Chapter is reliant on the wider community, businesses and corporations to fund and support our programs.
The programs provided by Ronald McDonald House Central West NSW are vital. Although support is always on hand at the House, resources are limited and both financial and in-kind assistance is critical.
