We are an independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing vital support programs for families with sick or injured children.
Ronald McDonald House Central West opened in April 2015 with our House built in the grounds of Orange Health Service, after years of planning and fundraising.
In 2024, our services grew to include a Hospitality Cart program at the Dubbo Base Hospital. In April 2026 we will launch a Hospital Cart in the Bathurst Hospital to help us support more families across the Central West when they need it most. Our Hospital Carts support families with sick and injured children in the Paediatric Ward and Special Care Nursery, visiting them at their child’s bedside.
Through our supported accommodation and wrap-around services, we strive to keep families together when life gets turned upside down due to a child’s illness.
Our Ronald McDonald Houses and Programs are run by a hard working team of staff and volunteers, aided by the generous support of our Board Members, donors, sponsors and corporate partners.
Our Ronald McDonald House in Orange offers families a tranquil and restful ‘home away from home’ while their child is receiving treatment in Orange.
Currently we have eight family rooms that sleep up to six guests each. The private rooms all have, ensuites, bar fridge, television and outdoor deck and some larger rooms also have self contained laundry and kitchen facilities.
We have full laundry access available for all of our families, communal kitchen, dining and lounge area and an outdoor and indoor play area.
We currently have many ways that we are actively serving ‘more families better’ in the Central West.
Our Ronald McDonald House in Orange supports families who have travelled for more than 25kms so that their sick or injured child aged 18 and under could receive treatment at one of Orange’s three hospitals – Bloomfield, Orange Health Service and Dudley.
The types of treatment children receive in Orange ranges from:
Our Hospital Cart in Dubbo supports families with children receiving treatment in the Paediatric ward and Special Care Nursery. These families are from Dubbo, the Central West and also right across NSW.
